Celebrating summer

Two community events were organized in the past week at ITER.

Just one day ahead of the summer solstice, ITER staff gathered for a summer luncheon party. It had been a busy week, with a meeting of the ITER Council, the lifting of a second "segment" of the vacuum vessel into the tokamak pit, and a semestrial all-staff meeting offering the opportunity to ask questions, and receive answers, about project status and plans for the future.
An early start to the day for hundreds of participants to the International Yoga Day event on the ITER site. Hosted by the newly established Consulate of India in Marseille, in cooperation with the ITER Organization, the event was organized before the start of the workday on Monday 23 June.
